HKT 5G network for IoT applications made groundbreaking development for buildings

Brand-new shopping experience: HKT, WEC and JLL redefine the real-estate industry with latest 5G technology for IoT applications

High coverage of IoT sensors across Hong Kong
Under the collaboration, HKT and WEC instaled more than 4,000 IoT sensors at over 200 properties managed by JLL across Hong Kong, including Grade A commercial buildings, shopping malls, industrial buildings and residential complexes.

Leveraging on big data with the help of IoT sensors
The IoT sensors were installed in different areas of the buildings to monitor temperature, humidity, air quality, security or water leakage. The data are captured and visualized in a centralized digital dashboard. JLL can now leverage on the big data analyzed to attain business insights, enabling the company to re-engineer and automate processes to significantly uplift operational efficiency.

Some sensors have to be installed under extreme conditions or at sunken areas of buildings such as lift machine rooms, switch rooms, fire sprinkler rooms, pump rooms, rooftops, emergency exits and restrooms.
